At just 10 minutes from the city is located Casas Grandes, place where the Archaeological Zone of Paquime is located, which was declared as Cultural World Heritage by UNESCO. At 36 km is located Juan Mata Ortiz, a pottery traditional village, where Mr. Juan Quezada lives, who gained fame for elaborating ceramic pieces inspired on Paquime, and who won the National Arts Award in 1999.
